After installing KB3153199 two days ago, today I dared to install some security updates.

High CPU usage came back, causing by Trusted Installer this time.

Actual install of the updates only took about 30 minutes. After installing this patch, checking for updates is completed in 10 minutes. And be prepared to see a longer black screen before desktop appears.

This was the case with KB3145739 as well on my system.) Edited by devilus, - AM.

OS: Windows Vista 32 Bit Home Premium I am unable to install recent Windows Vista updates because the updater hangs at "Checking for updates".This problem is related to built-in Windows Update program which regularly checks for new updates at Microsoft servers and downloads and installs them in Windows OS to keep your computer safe and faster.Several Windows 7 users have reported that when they try to check for new updates using Windows Update, it keeps checking for updates for hours. Now browse to the C:\Windows\Software Distribution folder and delete all the files and folders inside. Now you will be able to delete the files from the mentioned Software Distribution folder. This will help you if Windows Update is stuck downloading updates. In the CMD box that appears on the computer screen, enter the following strings of text, one at a time, and hit Enter. Your Windows Store App needs to be closed, by the way, so do not start it. Please read the entire post & the comments first, create a System Restore Point before making any changes to your system & be careful about any 3rd-party offers while installing freeware.
